16 May, on the Holmestrand waterfront, our team together with the local Ukrainian community held an open fundraising event. Visitors enjoyed home-baked treats, donated via Vipps, and learned how every contribution turns into practical help.
Goal. Raise funds for an ambulance for Ukraine. The vehicle is planned for a hospital in the Odesa region, where it will be used in daily emergency work.
How it went. The stand with pastries and hot drinks was open all day; anyone could give a voluntary amount, learn about Livet vil vinne projects, and register interest for future initiatives.
Symbol of the day. The stand featured a child’s drawing by eight-year-old Nicoletta Stancu: an ambulance beside the flags of Ukraine and Norway — a reminder of why we come together.
Who helped. Home baking was prepared by volunteers Olena Korabelnykova, Oksana Podstiva, Nataliia Horbatko, and other supporters. Thanks to them, the stand had warmth, energy and a steady line of visitors.
Result & next steps. The funds raised bring us closer to the ambulance goal. Our local team in Holmestrand has also asked the municipality for space to host more regular meet-ups, workshops and fundraising activities.
Thanks. Thank you to all residents and guests who stopped by, talked with us, donated and shared the word. Every conversation and every krone matters.
