In Kinn municipality, the Livet vil vinne team hosted a colourful Children’s Day (Barnas Dag). Guests were greeted by costumed characters and a photo corner. Everyone enjoyed all-ages activities — games, circle dances and creative workshops. We served home-baked treats, cotton candy, coffee and tea, plus sandwiches with salo (Ukrainian cured pork fat). The atmosphere was warm, friendly and very cozy.
Meet the characters.
A pirate, a clown and other playful figures set the tone from the first minutes. Children happily posed at the photo spot and made new friends.
Activities for everyone.
Kids and adults joined circle dances and table games. At the workshops we made paper “sweet baskets”, masks and decorations, and tried wool felting — soft, colourful souvenirs that everyone could take home.
The taste of celebration.
The scent of home baking and cotton candy filled the venue. At the coffee table there were coffee/tea and traditional salo sandwiches — a small taste of Ukraine in Kinn.
Community together.
Ukrainian families and Norwegian friends shared the day, the conversations and the joy. Events like this build trust and a warm, local community.
Thank you.
Huge thanks to our volunteers, parents and participants for their effort and support — and to every guest who joined us. Together we are stronger.
