Geithusdagen is the annual community festival in Geithus (Modum), organised by Geithus VEL. Families, clubs and associations meet for stands, tastes, activities and volunteering. This year, Veldedig HjelpeSenter for Sigdal — Livet vil vinne took part with a warm, open stand to raise support and build community around Ukraine.
What is Geithusdagen
A local market-and-meet day where residents, organisations and the neighbourhood come together: projects are presented, volunteers are recruited, and neighbours connect over coffee and cake. It’s low-threshold, family-friendly and inclusive — community in practice.
How Livet vil vinne took part

Home baking and hot drinks — cakes, pastries and rolls baked with care.

Balloon lottery — small surprises that made both children and adults smile.

Handmade items and small artworks — jewellery, décor and paintings that found new homes.
Just as important was the conversation: we shared what we do and how people can contribute.
Where the proceeds go
All proceeds from the stand go to support for Ukraine and targeted help for those who need it most. Thank you to the Modum community for generosity and trust — small contributions become concrete results when we stand together.
The day’s atmosphere
The scent of fresh baking, children’s laughter, blue-and-yellow ribbons beside Norwegian flags, and many kind words. Geithusdagen reminded us that solidarity in Modum is very much alive.
